Dplus KIA and Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu have been eliminated from Worlds 2023 after a loss against KT Rolster.

Deft won’t get a chance to defend his World Championship title. The last remaining member of the 2022 champions has been eliminated by the hand of KT Rolster. The only word that can be used to describe the series is frustrating.

DK started both games in a similar fashion, taking control over the neutral objectives, securing easy kills, and playing the map smartly. Unfortunately, when it came to claiming Baron Nashor, DK stumbled hard. It would be the plays around the most important objective which ultimately led to DK’s demise.

The performance by DK is not surprising to those who have watched the LCK throughout 2023. The team, while individually talented, can’t seem to get on the same page. It couldn’t come together during the team fights, and as a result, itgave away significant advantages.

Deft, the main character of the GODS music video, is one of two members of the 2022 DRX squad who made it to Worlds 2023. The other one being Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon and Team Liquid, which were eliminated in the first elimination round. DRX failed to qualify for the event altogether.

KT Rolster advances to Knockout Stage at Worlds 2023

Against all odds, KT Rolster is advancing to the Knockout Stage. The LCK’s third seed is having a rough tournament after only facing LCK and LPL teams in the Swiss Stage.

KT Rolster has had the most difficult schedule at Worlds, and its luck is unlikely to change. Odds are the team will face another LPL or LCK opponent in the quarter-finals. The question remains whether they can pull off another miraculous win or not.

KT Rolster is looking again like the squad that took the LCK by storm in the summer season. During the regular season, KT Rolster did what no other regional team could do and defeated Gen.G.
