Crime Boss Rockay City gameplay

Players accept missions from a central office and then add up to three members to their crew. Some missions will require players to get to an objective, rob a bank, or eliminate enemies.

This is the FPS portion of the game. Players must move around a determined area and complete whatever mission they are assigned. If their crew member is harmed, they can revive them. The gameplay is straightforward, giving players a direct path to shoot their way to the top.

Is Crime Boss: Rockay City only single-player?

Crime Boss: Rockay has a multiplayer mode. Up to four players can team up to complete certain missions.

Some of the missions they can engage in are turf wars, organized hits, and heists. As teams complete missions, they will claim parts of the city.

Solo players will get the chance to build their own crew with characters that get unlocked as you advance through the game.

Does Crime Boss: Rockay City have crossplay?

Crime Boss: Rockay City does not support crossplay and will not offer it in the near future.

Crime Boss: Rockay City platforms

The game is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows. There are no plans to support more platforms.

The game is not compatible with Xbox One or PlayStation 4. It won’t be available for these platforms.

What is Crime Boss: Rockay City about?

Rockay City is a thriving town in Florida where the fun never ends. After the mysterious death of the Crime King, the throne is up for grabs, and every aspiring criminal in the city is gunning for the crown.

Players take on the role of Travis Baker, a crime boss with big dreams. Baker wants to be the ultimate crime boss in Rockay City and won’t stop until he reaches his goal. Baker is willing to do anything it takes and is not afraid to get his hands dirty in the process.

Crime Boss: Rockay City cast

One of the highlights of Crime Boss: Rockay City is its star-studded cast, which includes none other than Chuck Norris himself. The actors not only lent their voices but also their likeness to the game in an attempt to evoke that coveted 90s nostalgia.

  • Michael Madsen is Travis Baker, the main character in the game who wants to become the next criminal kingpin of Rockay City.
  • Kim Basinger is Casey, the one who upholds the empire. Casey takes care of the finances and brings you the most serious missions. Casey is a non-playable character in the game.
  • Danny Trejo as The Dragon
  • Michael Rooker is Touchdown, a crew member in charge of everything related to turf wars. In the game, players will have to reunite with Touchdown, saving him from an ambush. In the turf war missions, Touchdown is available in the crew setting carrying an M16.
  • Danny Glover is Gloves, a former detective. Gloves joins Travis’ crew a few days into the campaign mode. Some of the important heists in the game can be unlocked through Gloves.
  • Damion Poitier is Nasara, the guiding voice inside your head. Nasara allows you to add special members to the crew, like Cracker, Jupiter, and Ranger. Nasara briefs you before every mission and guides you through it.
  • Vanilla Ice is Hielo, a rapping drug lord. The interactions with Hielo are limited, but they will make you laugh.
  • Chuck Norris is Sheriff Norris, a man who is ready to take justice into his own hands. A charming yet intimidating character who shows up when players make too much of a splash during the missions, Sheriff Norris is determined to catch Travis Baker and won’t stop until he does it.

Crime Boss: Rockay City receives negative reviews

On paper, Rockay City is an ambitious game that promised to be a direct competitor to GTA. However, the game failed to deliver on its promise, and the result is an underwhelming game, according to many critics.

Some of the issues had to do with the writing of the game. It relies on the cast to evoke some 90s nostalgia, but the dialogue is repetitive and sometimes even offensive.

According to the reviews, the gameplay gets repetitive after some missions. The parts that are supposed to be challenging can be completed easily, and to make the experience worse, it has multiple game-breaking bugs.
