Modern Warfare 3 is finally here — well, the campaign only. Unfortunately, the campaign has been met with a lot of backlash, including from big streamers like Charles “MoistCr1TiKaL” White.

If you pre-ordered Modern Warfare 3, you were able to play the campaign starting on November 1. This was a big incentive to pre-order since developers were hinting that Makarov was returning as the main antagonist. Unfortunately, it hasn’t lived up to expectations.

MoistCr1TiKaL hates Modern Warfare 3 campaign

Across the internet, critics and casual gamers alike have come to the conclusion that the Modern Warfare 3 campaign is “mid.” It’s been called boring and surface level despite some new features like being sandbox style and having “open combat missions.”

A lot of critics felt that the missions were repetitive. Even more unfortunate, the story itself wasn’t all too compelling and never reached the same emotional intensity of the previous campaigns. The anticipated return of Makarov was also a let down, with critics feeling he was one-dimensional and almost felt like a satire of a villain.

Moist joined in on the hate for the campaign, releasing a video called: MW3 is the Worst Call of Duty Campaign Ever.

It ended up taking Moist about four hours to complete the campaign. He complained throughout on his stream, calling the game “lazy” and “lame” for the mission style approach to the campaign.

“That’s actually just DLC for Modern Warfare 2,” he said, “held together loosely by some cut scenes.”

During the cut scenes, in fact, Moist even seemed frustrated. He called one scene “cringe,” clearly not feeling any emotional impact from the character’s death. The storyline got a lot of critique from Moist, who felt it didn’t have a “big earned climax moment” near the end.

“Call of Duty has fallen off in an absolutely brutal way. […] This is objectively horrible,” Moist said. “Half the campaign takes place doing DMZ on the f—ing Warzone map. It’s an absolutely nonsensical narrative without an ending. This is the worst campaign in the franchise and it’s not close.”

Moist said that Call of Duty fans are all “s—ing” on the campaign. But he added he still has hopes for multiplayer.
