Boombl4 divorces wife, claims she is blackmailing him

Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhaylov is getting divorced from his wife and the drama is spilling out onto social media.

Natus Vincere announced the sudden decision to release Boombl4 due to his being a “high reputational risk.” Though many suspected the cause of this was a possible pro-Russia Instagram post made by his wife or a possible move back to Russia for Boombl4, it might have been something else entirely.

A video is circulating on social media of an individual that looks like Boombl4 seemingly doing drugs. Alongside this, Boombl4 has announced that he is going through a divorce and claims that he is being “blackmailed.”

What is the drama surrounding Boombl4?

Boombl4 is going through what appears to be a bitter divorce from his wife, Angelika Mikhailova.

Boombl4 famously proposed to his girlfriend in November following Na`Vi’s victory over G2 Esports in the grand finals of the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 in November. She accepted shortly after, but his wife, who uses the handle LiQueen on social media, announced that the two were beginning divorce proceedings on her Telegram account in April 2022.

Reasons for the divorce were kept vague and Boombl4 never publicly acknowledged that the couple was splitting. Boombl4 states that he plans on filing libel lawsuits related to alleged “fake information.”

Will Boombl4 return to Na`Vi?

It doesn’t seem likely that Boombl4 will reunite with Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and return to Na`Vi any time soon, but it’s not impossible.

The issues surrounding Boombl4 were evidently significant enough for Na`Vi to release him. Videos of Boombl4’s behavior going public likely didn’t improve his standing with the organization.

It’s still very likely that Boombl4 will remain a part of professional CSGO. If Na`Vi struggles without him and this latest controversy ultimately blows over, it could lead to a reunion in the future. This will ultimately depend on both the team’s performance after parting ways with Boombl4 and how much bigger this controversy gets.
