Battles are a fundamental part of Pokémon Go, whether it is against other trainers, Team Rocket grunts, or raids, you need the best team. Here is the ultimate list of the best Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Getting the perfect team requires strategy and hard work. Knowing what Pokémon to hunt, train and power up will make the difference in Pokémon Go. A good Pokémon has a powerful attack, so it finishes the job quickly. A strong defense that makes it endure any opponent or a combination of both.

Powerful Attackers options

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Mewtwo is one of the best Pokémon in the game. It is impossible to find a Mewtwo in the wild. This super rare Pokémon is only available through mega raids. Mewtwo has one of the highest CP in the game, getting over 4,000 if powered up. Not many Pokemon can counter Mewtwo.

Machamp is a good option in raids since it’s only weak against Flying, Fairy, and Psychic type. Machop is a common Pokémon, getting one and training it up to Machamp should be an easy feat.

Lucario is our third pick when you are in the offense. Lucario is both Fighting and Steel type, making it a well-rounded Pokémon. It can resist most opponents while dealing a significant amount of damage. To get a Lucario, first, you must hatch a Riolu from an egg.

Strongest Defense options

When it comes to Pokémon Go, the best offense is a good defense. A Pokemon that strikes hard is good but one that can take endure all attacks is even better. Slaking is the strongest Pokemon in the game with a maximum CP of 5,010. Defeating a Slaking takes time, and most trainers will burn through their Pokemon to take it down.

Snorlax and Blissey are the perfect defenders for a Gym. Normal type Pokémon are weak against Rock, Ghost, and Steel. Even when they are facing one of these types, the tankiness of these Pokémon makes them a frustrating opponent.

Snorlax, Blissey, and Slaking can be found in the wild. If you spot one, do not hesitate to throw berries and ultra balls. Down the line, it will pay off.
