Dignitas reuniting GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, and other NiP legends

Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg is reportedly set to depart Ninjas in Pyjamas to rejoin three previous teammates on Dignitas.

According to French news site 1pv.fr, the player's rumored move to Dignitas has been finalized. F0rest is the final player remaining with Ninjas in Pyjamas from its legendary 2014 roster that also included Richard "Xizt" Landström, Adam "friberg" Friberg, and Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund.

1pv goes on to state that f0rest himself decided to part ways with NiP in favor of reuniting with his old teammates.

In late November, reports surfaced that the Dignitas organization was attempting to reunite three of those players in its return to the men's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene after a year away from the game. Soon after, news circulated that Dignitas was in talks with GeT_RiGhT as a potential final addition.

Dignitas has maintained a small presence in the CSGO scene with an all-female roster.

NiP core legends in CSGO

Xizt, f0rest, friberg, and GeT_RiGhT are four of the most tenured players in the CSGO scene, entering the title upon its release before famously amassing an 87-map winning streak.

The core four spent over five years together before friberg left the Ninjas in Pyjamas organization in 2017. The next two years would see both Xizt and GeT_RiGhT either choose to leave, or be forced out by the team due to underwhelming results.

The slow dissolution of the Ninjas in Pyjamas roster was difficult to watch for many fans, especially those who have followed its journey since the early 2000s. If the report is indeed true, Dignitas has set itself up with a roster of well-liked and respected players that should become fast fan favorites. The new Dignitas roster will reportedly read as follows:

  • Adam "friberg" Friberg
  • Christopher "GeT_RiGhT' Alesund
  • Landström, Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg
  • Richard "Xizt" Landström
  • Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærl

Previous reports stated that hallzerk will leave Norwegian organization Nordavind to join Dignitas as its fifth and final member. The young player will take on the AWPer role that was never properly filled with NiP.

Although questions still remain about whether the team will have the firepower to compete in today's Counter-Strike landscape, Dignitas will undoubtedly attract attention from fans and help distance the players from the discussion on NiP's history of exploitative business practices that was renewed in 2019.

GeT_Right and f0rest reunion would be major fan draw for Dignitas

Even if Dignitas doesn't find immediate success with this roster, it will undoubtedly be courted heavily by tournament organizers. GeT_RiGhT in particular is one of the most beloved players in the scene. Always honest and emotional, his interview following NiP's elimination from ESL One Cologne 2019 resulted in an outpouring of support from longtime fans.

In the background, f0rest can be seen watching on and supporting his teammate and friend.

Regardless of nationality or team affiliation, the "NiP Four," and GeT_RiGhT in particular, have been been a respected and beloved part of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports since its inception.

Dignitas joins OG, Gen.G with 2020 rosters

A move of this magnitude is unlike Dignitas, which has been content in sitting silently on the sidelines as organizations like Gen.G and OG entered the scene with their own high-profile signings. In early December, both organizations officially announced CSGO teams with splashy signings of veteran players.

After months of rumors, OG finally unveiled its roster headlined by Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt:

Meanwhile, Gen.G entered the game with the acquisition of most of Cloud9's fractured roster, as well as two promising players from other CSGO organizations. Gen.G's current roster includes the following players:

The report says that the NiP Four's move will happen sooner rather than later, begging the question as to when and where the team would first compete.
