Dignitas pursuing GeT_RiGhT as potential fifth for CSGO return
A November 27 report indicates that Dignitas is not only continuing to pursue much of the famous Ninjas in Pyjamas core, they’re now also setting their sights on Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund.
Following the report that Dignitas was eyeing
Richard “Xizt” Landström, Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg and Adam “friberg” Friberg as the potential core of their return to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a
report
from Jarek “DeKay” Lewis points to GeT_RiGhT as a potential fifth and final member of the roster.
Rumors of a Ninjas in Pyjamas reunion first surfaced on November 23. Xizt, f0rest, and friberg were reportedly targets to join Dignitas’ return to CSGO. Dignitas dissolved their CSGO team in August 2018.
If these reports are accurate, it would mark the reunion of four out of five members of the original Ninjas in Pyjamas core lineup. It would also be the first time that the four players have been on the same team since friberg’s departure from NiP in July 2017.
Dignitas would reunite the four original Ninjas in Pyjamas players with newcomer and AWPer Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærlih to round out the new CSGO roster.
Get_RiGhT is currently set to work the analyst desk at this week’s FaceIT ECS Season 8 Finals, starting on November 28 and running through December 1. Since the legendary player left the Ninjas after the Starladder Berlin Major, he hasn’t garnered much interest from teams apart from
a single stand-in role
for mousesports.
Despite the lack of offers, GeT_RiGhT has said that he is still interested in playing for a professional CSGO team. The Dignitas rumors are the first public leaks regarding a team’s interest in GeT_RiGhT.
F0rest is the only player from the original Ninjas core that remains with NiP today. GeT_RiGhT is the most recent member to leave NiP after rumors of his benching surfaced prior to the StarLadder Berlin Major.
Friberg left the Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2017 for OpTic Gaming. In February of 2018, he moved to Team Heroic, where he spent over a year before becoming a free agent in August 2019.
Xizt has had the most success in his time away from the Ninjas, spending close to a solid year with Fnatic before that team brought back Maikil “golden” Selim and Robin “flusha”
Rönnquist.
While Xizt, f0rest, friberg, and GeT_RiGhT were part of the original dominating Ninjas lineup, their influence waned with the emergence of other top-tier teams. Fnatic, MIBR, Astralis, and Team Liquid have all outperformed the NiP core in the past several years.
