Genshin Impact’s newly-announced 2.5 banners are great news for fans of Yae Miko, Sangonomiya Kokomi, and Raiden Shogun.
The traditional Genshin Impact pre-patch live stream has shown off all the exciting content coming in version 2.5. In addition to a new trounce boss and a, the show also revealed the upcoming banners for the newest patch. In addition to brand new five-star Yae Miko, two popular rerun requests will finally become available in the second half of the update. The stream also showed off a highly-anticipated new character hailing from Inazuma.
After the Yae Miko banner in update 2.5, Genshin Impact will host another double rerun banner featuring Sangonomiya Kokomi and Raiden Shogun. Both characters will become available in the second half of the patch. As the electro archon and leader of Inazuma, Raiden Shogun is an obvious fan favorite. Her previous banner broke several records for popularity including community spending.Â
By contrast, Kokomi was the worst banner in the history of Genshin Impact. Multiple factors pushed her low popularity including her mediocre story presence, undervalued role as an amazing healer, and talent that grants negative 100% crit rate.
Now that theorycrafters have had some time with her, Kokomi has become a core component of top-tier freeze teams. Kokomi’s 2.5 banner should go much better than her first one.
In addition to the confirmed banners above, the Genshin Impact 2.5 live stream also revealed a new Genshin Impact five-star character.
Kamisato Ayato is the older brother of Kamisato Ayaka. Based on the initial introduction, he is hydro sword user able to generate blades with water. This sounds similar to existing four-star Xingqiu, but if Ayaka is anything to go off of, he will most likely be a main DPS character instead.
The exact release date for Ayato was not revealed, but based on previous five-star reveals, it’s reasonable to expect his debut in version 2.6. His four-star entourage is also not announced. If the Kamisato family is involved in the 2.6 story, Ayato’s younger sister Ayaka could also make an appearance in a rerun banner.
