xQc bashes Overwatch as competitively unplayable, unwatchable

Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel is whipping up controversy yet again.

The former Overwatch League player called competitive Overwatch unplayable, unstreamable, and unwatchable. In a recent tweet, xQc blamed the game’s visuals for these woes, calling them “overwhelming.”

“The barriers make the stream quality unwatchable. Can we fix this?” he continued

While xQc never gave a reason as to why he felt the game was unplayable, it’s possible he was just frustrated after a bad match. In a follow up tweet, xQc apologized to his fans for “not doing better Overwatch streams.”

He went on to say that his interest in the game was slowly fading, but he seemed to feel guilty about this.

“All Overwatch viewers and people that like Gladiators and Team Canada: I haven’t forgotten you. You matter more to me than I can express and I sincerely apologize for not doing better OW streams. It’s just difficult to ‘get the juice’ in the game now,” xQc said.

xQc’s competitive history turns to drama

xQc gained popularity when he became part of the Dallas Fuel’s Season 1 roster. He was quickly released from the team after receiving multiple fines and warnings for incidents of bad behavior on social media.

This includes making homophobic comments, abusing the report function multiple times, and using “racially disparaging” emojis.

He turned to full-time streaming soon after, but remained popular in spite of his constant transgressions.

While he is mostly known for his variety content now, xQc has played Overwatch professionally since the start of the OWL. He represented Canada in the Overwatch World Cup and is also part of the Los Angeles Gladiator’s academy team in Contenders. Despite his continued participation in competitive Overwatch, it doesn’t seem like he’s too happy with the game’s state at the moment.
