One of the most popular Pokemon in the entirety of the franchise is Eevee, a cute cat-fox hybrid-of-a-creature with a wholesome personality and adorable features. Will there ever be another Eeveelution?
Eevee has different evolutions based on which elemental stone it’s given, all of them also beloved by the community. There are currently
eight Eeveelutions
that Eevee could possibly become. They are:
Jolteon
Flareon
Vaporeon
Espeon
Umbreon
Lefeon
Glaceon
Sylveon
That means there are Eeveelutions for the following types: Electric, fire, water, psychic, dark, grass, ice, and fairy. But Pokemon fans know there are many other Pokemon types out there. Will we ever discover an Eeveelution of another type?

We haven’t gotten a new Eeveelution since Sylveon back in Generation 6. Up until that point, we got a new Eeveelution every other generation: Generation 1, 2, 4, and 6 got Eeveelutions. Unfortunately, this pattern has been broken and we are now on Generation 9 with no mention of an Eeveelution.
For this reason, fans have been searching for clues of possible upcoming Eeveelutions. This includes in Pokemon Master Journeys on Netflix, which follows Professor Cerise’s daughter, Chloe and her Eevee partner.
Every time a main character in the Pokemon anime catches an Eevee, they always evolve it into the newest form. Remember Serena’s Eevee evolving into Sylveon in X & Y or May’s Eevee evolving into Glaceon in Diamond & Pearl?
Chloe’s Eevee has a sad backstory. It was a test subject at an Eeveelution research facility that was shown various stones, none of which were successful. Eevee escaped the lab and the researchers eventually let Chloe keep it in hopes that it would find its true identity. The researchers told Chloe that the Eevee has “chaotic DNA,” which is another hint that this Eevee may turn into something unexpected.
Unfortunately, Eevee never evolved during this show. It’s not impossible we will see Chloe and Eevee again in a future series — there’s so much setup at this pointing to a new Eeveelution — but so far this is all speculation.
What will the next Eeveelution be?
At this point, nothing is confirmed. There may never be a new Eeveelution ever, although that’s highly unlikely. But we truly don’t know when the next Eeveelution will appear and what type it will be.
There are 18 types of Pokemon, not counting all of the hybrids and other special types. This means the next Eevee would most likely be one of the following:
Fighting
Flying
Poison
Ground
Rock
Bug
Ghost
Steel
Dragon
Most Pokemon fans discuss fighting, bug, and dragon Eeveelutions the most. You’ll find a lot of fan art of these types, including the always adorable Hunneon.
Unfortunately, Pokemon has never commented on any of the fan art or gave any hints of their own regarding what Eeveelution is to come. For now, we will have to keep speculating and drawing adorable fan art until we get some hints.
