Catalyst is rumored to be the next legend in Apex Legends, slated for Season 15.Â
Hunted marked the entrance of Vantage with a sniper that didn’t necessarily shake up the meta but had a significant impact on gameplay. But, if leaks are to be believed, the upcoming legend would be a meta-shaker, bringing a unique power to create structure out of scratch. Catalyst’s name has been found lazing in-game data and leakers believe she’s tied to the upcoming map.Â
Season 15 will bring a new creative builder to Apex Legends, who harnesses powers from her ferrofluid to build and block, leakers claim.Â
Leaks say Apex Legends has been using a concept art by Yang J as a placeholder for Catalyst, and it’s titled “The Witch.” This information confirms that Respawn is aiming for a goth aesthetic for a woman who likely toys with black magic. The exact toolkit of Catalyst is unknown, but data miners have revealed an early concept for her abilities.Â
Catalyst comes with a ferrofluid that powers her structures, allowing her to create new angles and potential hiding spots. Here are all her leaked abilities.Â
NEW SEASON 15 LEGEND “CATALYST” LEAKS – CRYPTO’S SISTER – Apex Legends Guide
These abilities point at the addition of not only a new character but a new type of ability in Apex Legends. So far, no other legend is capable of whipping up Fortnite-style buildings to seek temporary cover. Catalyst already reads like a viable team player who’d help aggressive agents play freely.Â
As for the lore, Catalyst likely has deep ties into the Apex Legends lineup. Some claim that she’s a long-lost sibling of Crypto, who was presumed dead. Season 14’s Quest episode “Web of Lies” first confirmed that Crypto’s sister was alive when she chatted with Watson.Â
However, these speculations come from different sources and have yet to be confirmed by Respawn. So, players may want to take them with a pinch of salt and wait for official legend teasers to know whether Catalyst is even coming to Apex or not. If leaks are true, the new legend should arrive somewhere around November 1.
