Blizzard unveiled the leader of the Null Sector, Ramattra, at the Overwatch League grand finals, and we finally know more about his abilities.

Overwatch 2 was launched with three new heroes — Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko — with a promise of more new faces. Now, the developer has announced an omnic tank for Overwatch 2 Season 2, slated for December. And it’s looking like his abilities mixed with passive and aggressive powers may make Ramattra the go-to tank in Overwatch 2.

Ramattra was initially a war machine, but he shed his munitions for a shield to protect his fellow Omnics. However, hints of machinery can still be spotted on his body. The tank takes the shape of an attacker giant and can fold into a passive shield upon will. Officially, his abilities are yet to be revealed, but there’s plenty to glean from the trailer, leaks, and sources.

Ramattra will enter Overwatch 2 in Season 2, set to release on December 6.

Ramattra’s abilities in Overwatch 2

Ramattra

Ramattra is special because he’s Overwatch 2’s first hero to have dual forms. In an interview, Overwatch 2 developers talked about Ramattra’s gameplay and abilities.

“His Omnic Form lets him protect his teammates and has a staff as his weapon while his nemesis form transforms him into a larger and more menacing hero where he marches down on the enemy team,” Alec Dawson said.

Ramattra’s Omnic Form

In his default “Omnic Form,” Ramattra turns into a barrier for his teammates. From long-range, the hero creates shields and picks fights with enemies from afar using a staff-type weapon. Ramattra is more potent in his Omnic Form when enemies are attacking from a distance.

Ramattra’s Nemesis Form

The fourth new hero gets an instant personality switch in his Nemesis Form. Ramattra builds in size to prepare for close-range brawls. In addition, his health gets an armor boost of 150, helping him walk all over the enemies. In his Nemesis Form, he also has some fist ability that works like an alternative to the Ominic Form’s staff weapon.

Ramattra has plenty of more powers that are rooted in some dark energy field.

How to unlock Ramattra in Overwatch 2

Ramattra will be locked behind a paywall of $9.99, equal to 1000 Overwatch coins. However, players can also unlock him for free, but it’d take weeks of hard grinding. To get Ramattra for free, players must surpass battle pass’ tier 55.

More will be revealed soon, but the new character is still a month from release.
