Ramattra

New tank hero Ramattra was revealed during the Overwatch League Grand Finals, an omnic with two forms and a close relationship with Zenyatta. Despite initial excitement over the dynamic hero, Overwatch 2 players are becoming quite frustrated with how to unlock Ramattra.

Ramattra is the next hero coming to Overwatch. He will be available in Season 2, which comes out on December 6. But unlike other new heroes, like Kiriko, Ramattra is a bit of a pain to unlock.

How to unlock Ramattra in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 has removed loot boxes and introduced a new battle pass system, similar to other FPS games. But Overwatch players have felt frustrated about the battle pass system since the game dropped. Now, gamers are even more annoyed after finding out how to unlock Ramattra.

Ramattra will be the first hero that’s not automatically available to long-time fans that played Overwatch 1. Instead, Ramattra will be locked behind the battle pass. There will be two ways to unlock Ramattra. The first is to reach Tier 55 of the battle pass. This will take a bit of grinding. Once Season 2 ends, Ramattra will probably be available to purchase with Overwatch Coins.

Players that want access to Ramattra immediately will need to purchase the premium battle pass, which will probably cost about $10. Purchasing the premium battle pass will also grant access to extra tiers and extra cosmetics.

Who is Ramattra?

Overwatch developers have shared Ramattra’s origin story. While he was created to lead omnics into war, Ramattra has been more focused on creating a better life for omnics through peace and harmony.

“We have meditated on the universe and our place within it. We have tried to co-exist with humanity but humanity is not interested in sharing their worlds. How many more omnics should perish to fuel mankind dreams? No more,” Ramattra said. “We can find our own place. And we must.”

Blizzard hasn’t revealed Ramattra’s official abilities yet but it was announced that he will have two forms. The first is his default Omnic Form, which allows him to create barriers while using a staff-style weapon for ranged attacks.

His second form, Nemesis Form, makes him bigger and tankier. In this form, Ramattra will get closer to the enemy team to use shield-piercing attacks. The strategy with Ramattra will be attacking enemy backlines and understanding when to become more aggressive, especially since he will be easier to target in his Nemesis Form.
