Pokemon is one of the most popular franchises in the world. Even if someone hasn’t played the game or watched the anime, they will probably recognize Pikachu. The story of Pokemon is closely linked to the story of Nintendo, but the game has expanded to other platforms. Considering that, which Pokemon games can be played on PC?

Pokemon divides its games into main games and side series. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Sword and Shield, X and Y, and so on are all main games. Pokemon Go, Pokemon Colosseum, and Pokemon Unite are all side series, some as part of a specific generation or completely stand-alone.

Pokemon Masters EX and Pokemon Go are mobile games that exist outside of Nintendo. For PC, the only official game available is the new version of Pokemon TCG Online. This game is also available for Mac, iOS, and Android.

While the list of official Pokemon games that can be played on PC is short, the fans have taken it upon themselves to create their games. These games go from a simple reimagination of the main game to a racing game. Other games like Pokemon Showdown, which is a competitive battling simulator, can also be played online on PC.

The Pokemon Company doesn’t take direct action against these games, but doesn’t condone their existence either. Starting in 2023, players that use Pokemon Showdown to create illegally modified Pokemon can get banned from playing Pokemon.

How to play Scarlet & Violet on PC?

It is not possible to play Pokemon Scarlet and Violet on PC. This game is exclusive to Nintendo Switch.

Players have sometimes used a combination of software to be able to play the main games on PC. These actions go against Pokemon terms of service and don’t allow players to enjoy the full Pokemon experience. For a game like Scarlet and Violet, being able to go online and play with friends, and facing the Tera Raid Battles together, is an important part of the experience.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat. It's not as easy to hunt certain things on that game as it is on something like Legends: Z-A or Scarlet and Violet, but you can endlessly play by walking around. The shiny odds are much higher, too. At 1/512 base odds, it's much more likely than in a mainline game, where the odds are 1/4096. If you're interested ...

Additionally, it's a real Game of the Year contender. Yet, early sales reports indicate that the two are selling very similarly. FireRed ...
