Nintendo Direct

Rumors and reports were suggesting that the next Nintendo Direct stream is coming in September, and those rumors have been proven true.

Nintendo has hosted a Nintendo Direct stream every September for the last six years including a Mini event in 2020. The events promote games set to arrive during the holiday season, while also updating fans regarding games that have been in development for a long while.

Last year’s installment brought a lot of exciting news so Nintendo fans are understandably hoping that another epic event is. Here’s what is known about the next Nintendo Direct.

The next Nintendo Direct is coming on September 13

Reports and rumors suggested that a Nintendo Direct event will happen in September, on top of the precedent. Those were proven true with a new page on the Nintendo website, which confirmed that the next Nintendo Direct is coming on September 13.

An industry insider NateTheHate2 revealed that an event is planned for September earlier in August. As more fans have started discussing the possibility, NateTheHate2 tweeted again that a stream is “set for September.”

While multiple Nintendo leakers have agreed with the notion of a September event, nobody has an exact date for now. Nintendo fans pointed out that the company never hosts the stream early September, meaning gamers will get their fix later in the month if Nintendo sticks to their usual scheduling.

What will be discussed in the next Nintendo Direct?

It is unknown what might be shown in the next Direct, but Baynoetta 3, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the most likely candidates.

Last year’s September stream had the last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC, Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land footage and updates. Will this year’s be as exciting?

GamesBeat editor Mike Minotti and GiantBomb reporter Jeff Grubb have both speculated that the upcoming Nintendo Direct will focus on The Legend of Zelda. The two industry insiders have theorized that the September stream will reveal Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD ports for the Nintendo Switch.

Fans won’t have to wait long to find out what’s on tap. The event will begin in less than 24 hours, and will be live-streamed from Nintendo’s official YouTube channel.
