Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the hotly-anticipated sequel to Fallen Order, is scheduled to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on April 28, but those new to the franchise are lost in the timeline.

Cal Kestis’ journey continues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a game that has taken center stage months before the release. Players are eager to discover what happened to Cal Kestis and his cute droid. All of this and more will be revealed in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as Cal returns with new tactics and new combat stances. But players are more curious about the timeline.

Star Wars is a massive franchise, so it’s totally fine if you’re also lost in the timeline. Here’s when Jedi: Survivor takes place.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor timeline

Jedi: Survivor Cal Kestis

Jedi: Survivor is expected to continue Cal’s story five years after the events of Fallen Order. This puts the game’s timeline at 9 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin) in the Star Wars universe. The period in which the sequel is set is a significant one in the Star Wars canon and leaves the door open for numerous exciting possibilities in terms of potential characters and storylines.

The video game “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” centers around the character of Cal Kestis, a young Jedi Padawan who managed to survive the devastating Order 66, which marked the downfall of the Jedi Order. The game takes place five years after the activation of Order 66, leading to most Jedi’s death. In Star Wars chronology, the events of the game occur in 14 BBY, which is equivalent to 14 years before the start of the events depicted in “Star Wars: A New Hope.”

Cal Kestis is no longer a Padawan in Survivor

In Jedi: Survivor, Cal Kestis joins the big league. The game’s timeline goes alongside Obi-Wan, so players should expect surprise cameos as Cal Kestis steps out of his teenage era.

The protagonist of the story, Cal Kestis, was just a Jedi Padawan who was on the run from Imperial forces. The events in the first game occurred in the year 14 BBY, equivalent to 14 years before the events depicted in Star Wars: A New Hope. But, in Survivor, he’ll wield bigger weapons and have greater wisdom to make better decisions.

With a grown-up Jedi, players will also see better tech. The combat trailer features additional force abilities, new lightsaber fighting styles, and battle droids, which fans love. Besides that, Cal Kestis can also tame beasts and use them to progress in his challenges. Assisted combat with other characters is also a notable mechanic in the gameplay trailer.
