The Empire’s most-wanted, Cal Kestis, is picking up right where he left off in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. However, compared to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen, the combat is more challenging, and the story is immersive.

After a short teaser, Respawn and EA have lifted the curtain on the gameplay trailer at Game Awards 2022, and it’s everything fans had expected and more. Now, players are eager to find out more about the year’s highly-anticipated action-adventure title. Here’s all that we know about Jedi: Survivor.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor storyline

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

When Cal was a mere padawan, he decided not to reform the Jedi Order to keep the Force-sensitive children out of the hands of the Empire. Instead, he destroyed the Holocron after seeing the warning signs and dark visions. Consequently, Cal was on the run. Five years later, players will finally fight for their well-deserved closure.

The journey will be harrowing, but Cal won’t be alone. Like Jedi: Fallen, the knight will have allies in Jedi Cere, Bode Akuna, and his irreplaceable droid companion BD-1.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gameplay

The combat trailer features additional force abilities and new lightsaber fighting styles. However, the most notable new element out of the trailer was the speedy dual lightsaber action. The gameplay also leaned towards the separatist battle droids, which fans love. Besides that, Cal Kestis can also tame beasts and use them to progress in his challenges. Assisted combat with other characters is also a notable mechanic in the gameplay trailer.

The trailer didn’t mention the name of the beasts that Cal fights, but it’s evident that with the Jedi, enemies have also grown stronger. Furthermore, Cal is no longer a padawan, but he’s instead a knight himself. So, he will indeed be equipped with advanced tactics and tools to tackle the mercenary.

The universe will be much larger and open to exploring as well. According to the game developer, players can discover new planets and familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy and master new skills, equipment, and abilities that will augment the ways they explore, fight, and roam.
