What’s the Pokemon with 3 leaves in Search for Bitter Leaves?

Petilil is the Pokemon with three leaves

One NPC in Pokemon Legends: Arceus tasks players with catching a mysterious “Pokemon with three leaves” in the Search for Bitter Leaves request.

Many requests revolve around asking the player to find vaguely described Pokemon. A big part of Pokemon Legends: Arceus is receiving requests from NPCs that want to see, or even take, some of the player’s Pokemon.

The Search for Bitter Leaves quest comes from the Galaxy Team’s Medical Corps, who are looking to make medicine. To do this, they need a “Pokemon with three leaves” that can help them with their task. But what is this Pokemon? And where can it be caught?

The “Pokemon with three leaves” is Petilil

The “Pokemon with three leaves” that the Medical Corps is seeking is Petilil.

Though there are a few Pokemon that technically fit the description, players will need to seek out one of the defining Pokemon of the Crimson Mirelands. Catching one isn’t particularly difficult, either.

The Pokemon can be found in two sections of the Crimson Mirelands. On the eastern side of the map is Cottonsedge Prairie and to the south is the Holm of Trials. Both are relatively difficult to access as they require some creative use of Wyrdeer in order to jump across rivers that aren’t meant to be crossed until the player has Basculegion.

Determined players can find angles to cross the rivers, though. Once they do, Petilil isn’t particularly difficult to catch. Players can comfortably catch it using regular Poke Balls and won’t really need to worry about positioning or backshots with it.

The Search for Bitter Leaves request

The Search for Bitter Leaves tasks players with catching a Petilil for the Medical Corp. Once they bring back the “Pokemon with three leaves,” the player receives three Fine Remedies and five Hopo Berries.

The mission is a fairly easy one to complete since players will want to catch themselves a Petilil regardless. Lilligant is a solid grass-fighting Pokemon that shares a typing with Hisuian Decidueye. It’s a decent option for anyone that didn’t choose Rowlet as their starter and could still use a physical attacker with good coverage.

How to evolve Petilil in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Petilil is evolved into Hisuian Lilligant by using a Sun Stone. Sun Stones can be found in space-time distortions or can be purchased with Merit Points from the trading post next to the Galaxy Team headquarters.

It’s worth noting that there is currently no way to evolve Petilil into the “regular” Unovan version. As of this writing, Petilil can only evolve into the Hisuian version of Lilligant. This may change in the future, but for the time being, players will have to settle for the new version.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat. It's not as easy to hunt certain things on that game as it is on something like Legends: Z-A or Scarlet and Violet, but you can endlessly play by walking around. The shiny odds are much higher, too. At 1/512 base odds, it's much more likely than in a mainline game, where the odds are 1/4096. If you're interested ...

Recent Pokémon sales prove nostalgia is still king Zachary Roberts To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were brought to the Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2) library. This came a little over a week before Pokémon Pokopia dropped. The former is a decades-old game, and the latter is a brand-new title unlike anything in the franchise. Additionally, it's a real Game of the Year contender. Yet, early sales reports indicate that the two are selling very similarly. FireRed ...

Here’s the difference between mythical and legendary Pokémon Steven Rondina Fans of Pokémon are obsessed with rarity, and no other categories of Pokémon are rarer than Mythicals and Legendaries. But what’s the difference between a Mythical and a Legendary Pokémon, and how many are there?
