What's included in the Dragon Ball x Fortnite crossover?

Goku and Vegeta from Dragon Ball

The next big Fortnite crossover is coming, and it will seemingly feature the enduring anime series Dragon Ball.

Fortnite has been described as a “pop culture singularity” in the past and that keeps on getting proven true. The battle royale has pulled characters from movies, televisions, and other video games and it’s making a hard run at anime these days. After the success of the Naruto x Fortnite crossover, another iconic anime series is set to join the fray. This collaboration was pegged as early as July by Fortnite leakers.

Though it wasn’t explicitly stated, Fortnite released a photo that left little room for interpretation as to its next big skin release. A photo showing Dragon Ball’s wish-granting dragon Shenron appeared on Twitter making it obvious that a Dragon Ball x Fortnite crossover is coming in the very near future.

When are Dragon Ball skins coming to Fortnite?

Dragon Ball skins will be arriving in Fortnite on August 16, 2022.

The initial reveal left no room for interpretation as to when the skins are coming. The promotional tweet revealed the August 16 date, and it’s one to circle for fans of the Dragon Ball franchise. There’s still a good bit of mystery as to what exactly the crossover will bring, though.

Goku, Vegeta, and Beerus coming to Fornite

Goku, Vegeta, and Beerus are reportedly set to be included in the Fortnite DLC release alongside one other character who is yet to be revealed, per data miners and leakers.

Goku and Vegeta were effectively slam dunks to be included in any Dragon Ball crossover content. Goku is the main character of the series while Vegeta is his primary rival and an occasional villain. They’re also the two most identifiable characters of the Dragon Ball series to this point, with nobody else coming particularly close.

Beerus is a much more recent addition to the series, first appearing in 2013’s Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods film and becoming the first major antagonist of Dragon Ball Super. Though he’s a significant character, he’s not nearly as well-known as many others in the series.

It’s unknown who the fourth character will be, but there are many possibilities. The most obvious are Piccolo and Trunks, but there are many other heroes and villains in the series that could also join the battlefield.

Alongside the character skins, fans can expect various other cosmetics based on Dragon Ball to appear in the crossover. This may include Dragon Ball-themed weapon wraps, back bling, and gliders to land in Fortnite.
