Marvel isn’t slowing down any time soon despite pretty underwhelming reviews and attendance for The Marvels. Now, people are already buzzing about The Fantastic Four reboot. Here’s everything we know about the latest star-studded superhero movie.
When is the Fantastic Four reboot coming?
The Fantastic Four is scheduled for a May 2, 2025 release date.
This means that the movie will be part of the MCU’s alleged final chapter of the Multiverse Saga. It will kick off Phase 6, skipping an origin story and arriving as an active team.
The movie was initially announced in 2019 during Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con panel. Director Jon Watts stepped down in 2022, however, to focus on the Spider-Man trilogy. Later that year, Matt Shakman was confirmed as the new director.
The latest Marvel news is that Pedro Pascal has been reportedly cast as Reed Richards. Meanwhile, Venessa Kirby will play Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn will be Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will be Ben Grimm.
The announcement of Pascal continued the ongoing narrative that Marvel is continuing to push for big budgets and big names, relying on star power over anything else.
IGN noted
that the budgets are so big for Marvel movies, in fact, that it’s unlikely they’d take any risks.
These reports, keep in mind, have not been confirmed by Marvel. For now, they are just rumors.
Fantastic Four 2025 plot
With Fantastic Four so far in the future, it’s currently unknown what the movie will be about. All we know for now is that the MCU’s version of Fantastic Four won’t be an origin story.
The villain has also been kept under wraps. This has made it even more difficult to pinpoint what exactly will be happening in the movie so far.
It’s believed that the Fantastic Four is going to be a big part of the setup going into upcoming crossover events like The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, so this could give fans a bit of a hint at what to expect.
