Pokémon Day is approaching, and here are some of the surprises that might be revealed this year.

Pokémon Day is the annual Pokémon celebration. It takes place every February 27 worldwide, and one of the main attractions is Pokémon Presents. This live event is a short broadcast where The Pokémon Company reveals everything there is to come for the year. This is the event where new games and events are announced. In 2022, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet were revealed during Pokémon Presents.

What happens during Pokémon Day?

In 2023, Pokémon started the celebrations early with Pokémon Together. This is a campaign on social media that encourages fans to share their Pokémon memories. These memories will then be used in an interactive mosaic to be revealed on February 27.

The biggest event of the day is Pokémon Presents. It is unclear what will be announced during this broadcast, but it is easy to speculate based on past experiences.

The main announcements during this time are the new games to come out in 2023. There are at least three categories of games in the Pokémon Universe. Games in the mainline are the title games for each generation, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Pokémon Sword, Shield, and Pokémon X and Y are examples of mainline games.

Other titles like Pokémon Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamonds are remakes that are technically part of the generation. These are part of the mainline but are not as impactful as the first game in the generation. There are spin-offs, which include other games in the Pokémon world that drop during the same time but have no connection.

It is still too early in the ninth generation to have a game in the mainline and get introduced to the tenth generation. Fans can expect at least one spin-off game. According to leaks from the Pokémon Together website, a new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon could be announced during the next Pokémon Present. This would be the third game in the series.

Another game that could be revealed is the enhanced version of Pokémon X and Y. Following the order of remakes, it would be time for the sixth generation to have a new version.

Fans can expect celebratory content across multiple games. Pokémon GO and Pokémon Unite are likely to have some kind of event during Pokémon Day.

On the anime side, it is possible that Pokémon reveal details about the new Pokemon series, including the premiere date. Through Twitter, Pokémon revealed Friede and Captain Pikachu, two new characters in the show. This announcement might have been just a prelude to what is to come for fans of the anime.

It is not too early to get news about the next era of the Pokémon TV show. If Pokémon keeps the broadcast schedule it has kept for the past 25 years, we could get the new show on March 31.

Pokémon Day would be the perfect occasion to show a trailer or at least a preview of the adventures of Liko and Roy.
