Campfire is the new social app by Niantic. Learn how to join using your Pokemon Go account and everything you can do on it.

If you are an avid Pokemon player, you might need more than one app to take full advantage of your games. Campfire is the new app by Niantic that integrates, among other games, Pokemon Go.

In Pokemon Go, players can improve their friendship level and invite each other to raids, but no other form of communication is available. Campfire allows players to do something that wasn’t possible before in sending DMs to their friends.

Perhaps one of the most interesting features is the ability to “light a flare.” This means that players can alert others in the area when they plan to do a raid. It is an effective way to get to know other players in the same area.

Niantic is planning on a global rollout as a response to the changes to remote raids. These changes saw the Remote Raid Pass drastically increase in price along with reducing the daily remote raid limit to just five. The developer hopes to make the transition smoother for players who are still protesting the changes.

How do you get a Campfire invite in Pokemon Go?

According to Niantic, the app is currently available worldwide. However, available doesn’t necessarily mean accessible. It is possible to download Campfire, but it won’t allow you to access it.

The app prompts you to log in using an email, a Google account, or Facebook. Once you complete this step, a message pops up saying that you need an invitation from someone who is currently on the app.

In Pokemon Go, some players will have an icon on the right side of the screen. Click it to access Campfire, and once on the app, you can invite other players who are on your friend list.
