Nitro Drifter Fortnite

The new Fortnite season has brought tons of exciting items and mechanics, as well as new vehicles, but what is a Nitro Drifter in Fortnite and how can you use it?

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, or Fortnite: MEGA, is the latest season to hit Epic Games’ flagship battle royale. The new season brought a Japanese cyberpunk flair to the southeastern corner of the island and tons of new items and mechanics to match it. One of these is the new Nitro Difter car, a four-wheeled, souped-up racing car with a unique Nitro Drift mechanic that gives a savvy driver lots of space to master it.

Here’s what a Nitro Drifter is in Fortnite and how to use its Nitro Dift.

What is a Nitro Drifter in Fortnite?

The Nitro Drifter is the latest drivable car available in Fortnite. It’s a street racing car that’s low to the ground and as fast as ground vehicles get. For most intents and purposes, the Nitro Drifter is very similar to any other car you can drive in Fortnite.

The big differences are its speed on roads and its distinct lack of speed without Off-Road Tires. The Nitro Drift by default is awful when it comes to off-roading. They can be found all over the map, especially at gas stations and in the newly added areas in the southeastern portion of the map. The big difference between the Nitro Drifter and others cars is its Nitro Boost ability.

The Nitro Drift feature is Fortnite’s name for a handbrake turn/drift ability on the car. Players can use the handbrake turn to take corners more quickly, and slide smoothly around bends in the road. If the Nitro Drift is held down long enough, the car will receive a speed boost when the drift stops.
