Understanding the strengths and weaknesses of your Pokemon is a skill that every trainer must possess. These stats are universal and apply to every Pokemon game. If you wish to better understand your Flying type Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet, this guide is for you.

In the Pokemon universe, there are 112 Flying type Pokemon, representing 11.03% of all Pokemon and making it the fourth most common type. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have 48 Pokemon with Flying as their primary or secondary type. It also has two of only four Pokemon that are pure Flying type, Rookidee, and its evolution, Corvisquire.

Flying type weaknesses in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Flying type’s biggest weaknesses are Rock, Steel, and Electric type Pokemon. Any Pokemon of these three types has the potential to deal super effective damage in battle.

This type is also vulnerable to Ice type Pokemon, making these attacks similarly effective against Flying Pokemon.

Flying type strength in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Flying type Pokemon have multiple strengths and can be effectively used in battles against Fighting, Bug, and Grass type Pokemon. In a battle, a Flying type will have the upper hand and also be completely immune against Ground type attacks.

Overall, Flying type is not the first type of Pokemon that comes to mind when putting together a team for battle. The weaknesses are too obvious for these Pokemon, which already tend to be on the weaker side.

Best flying type in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The best Flying type in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is also the rarest Pokemon in the game, Charizard.

Charizard was available for two weekends in 2022 as the seven-star Tera Raid Battle boss. At the time, players had the opportunity to catch one Charizard. After the event, the Pokemon became unavailable.

Because it is not part of Paldea’s Pokedex, Charizard cannot be found in the wild. If you have one on your team, you are a lucky one.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat. It's not as easy to hunt certain things on that game as it is on something like Legends: Z-A or Scarlet and Violet, but you can endlessly play by walking around. The shiny odds are much higher, too. At 1/512 base odds, it's much more likely than in a mainline game, where the odds are 1/4096. If you're interested ...
