Want to race as Gold Mario in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? Here's how
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes with a massive roster of classic Nintendo characters and a
great selection of karts and wheels, creating endless combinations. But there are actually unlockables in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, including characters like Gold Mario.
One of the most sought-after unlockables is Gold Mario. Gold Mario has all the
same stats as Metal Mario
except he now has a shiny new color that looks much more lux. He is considered a heavy racer that has one of the best speed stats in the game. Players that love to drift gravitate to Gold Mario.
Is Gold Mario rare in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
Gold Mario is a tough one to unlock compared to other unlockables, meaning not everyone will have him on their roster. With enough practice, however, anyone can add Gold Mario to their game.
Mario Kart 8 players can unlock Gold Mario by taking first place in all 200cc Grand Prix cups. Players first need to complete all of the Grand Prix cups at the 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc levels. Once those are complete, 200cc Grand Prix cups are unlocked. Take first place in all of the Grand Prix cups at 200cc to unlock Gold Mario.
What else can you unlock in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe fans can add to their vehicles and accessories collections the longer they play.
Racers begin with four karts, two bikes, and one ATV. There are also four wheels and one glider option. More of each can be unlocked just by racing, including 18 more karts, 17 more wheels, and 10 more gliders.
These items can be unlocked by
collecting coins. Coins can be grabbed as you race around the track as well as by simply completing cups. Every 50 coins collected will unlock a kart up to 1,000 coins. At that point, an item is unlocked every 100 coins.
