It’s pretty easy for Terrorists to get mid control on Mirage. This smoke can help Counter-Terrorists stop enemies’ advances.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s most popular location Mirage is also one of the trickiest ones to handle on the CT side. Taking site control on this map is a menace, which is why Ts often breakthrough mid with the help of utility. One smoke in the window, one short, and defending sites become impossible for the CTs.

The connector is one of the critical areas that Ts get control of to hit A site. It’s also the most challenging to defend, as CTs are exposed from this angle while scouting A main and palace. One wrong move from the player watching mid, and it puts the entire team in jeopardy. This one-way smoke requires players to engage in close-range duels while covering enemies’ lines of sight.

This new one-way smoke created by G2 Esports’ Nikola “NiKo” Kovač might help you trap Terrorists in their own net.

NiKo’s smoke is the perfect way to tackle mid. It protects your teammates from enemies while ensuring you bag bonus kills. Here’s how you can replicate it in-game.

For this smoke, stand at the corner of the jungle and place your crosshair at the cave entrance. Your aim should be fixed on the lower side of the door, as shown in the image.

Throw the smoke and hold a position inside the cave. Move to the left, behind the wooden boxes, to utilize the one-way trait of this smoke. From here, you should be able to have a clear view of the A-short catwalk and lower connector. This angle is advantageous as it ensures your teammate’s safety while adding kills to your scoreboard.

This lineup was popularized by NiKo, who often uses it to defend the connector on the CT side. It works best when T-side has an advantage over CTs in terms of firepower, and you want to get smart kills without putting yourself out in danger.

Is Mirage a CT-sided map?

Mirage is a relatively balanced CSGO map, tilting a little in favor of the CTs. The location allows for creative executes, so whoever has the best utility lineups takes the cake on this map. Aim battles are secondary on this location, as winning on this map requires solid teamwork and communication.
