Is the hype returning to FaZe Clan? Richard “FaZe Banks” Bengtson has just revealed his plans for the esports organization now that he’s CEO.
FaZe Clan has had a rough couple of years. Once seen as a powerful force in the space, it recently faced mass layoffs and was delisted from the Nasdaq stock exchange after it was revealed it wasn’t all that profitable after all. It was an unfortunate turn of events for fans of the content-focused org.
Now, however, FaZe Clan has been acquired by GameSquare, the owner of Complexity Gaming and other esports organizations. As part of the agreement, GameSquare put FaZe Banks and other founding members back on top of FaZe Clan.
During an Adin Ross livestream, Banks discussed what he plans to do as the CEO of FaZe Clan. While on the phone with the controversial streamer, Banks said that the org was going to be “f—ing mine” in 90 days.
But what will he do first in those 90 days? Apparently, he is going to “chop everyone’s f—ing heads off.” He said: “They’re all gone. See you later.”
In response, Ross said that he couldn’t wait to see what would happen. Banks replied that “enough is enough” and that everyone was “going to see” soon.
On social media, esports fans rolled their eyes at Banks’ dramatics. A lot of people don’t seem to have faith in the future of FaZe Clan at this point, with some saying that Banks has failed to go through the “transformation” he claimed to have.
Some people, however, expressed excitement for “big changes ahead,” stating that they looked forward to certain content creators being removed from the org for various reasons.
