If you are looking to add a shiny Rowlet to your Pokemon Go collection, we have bad news for you.

Rowlet is a dual Grass and Flying type Pokemon and starter from the Alola region. This owl Pokemon is one of the cutest starters in the Pokemon universe. As it evolves, Rowlet gets stronger until it becomes Decidueye, a Pokemon that any trainer worth their salt should consider for their team.

Rowlet is a relatively new addition to Pokemon Go. It has been available in the game for roughly a year, being added as part of the Welcome to Alola update in March 2022. Since then, Rowlet has been featured in different events, like Alola to Alola and the 2022 Pokemon Go Fest.

But despite becoming a common Pokemon in the game, Rowlet doesn’t have a shiny version available.

Can Rowlet be shiny in Pokemon Go?

The shiny version of Rowlet is not available in Pokemon Go. The game doesn’t release the shiny version of the Pokemon when they add them to the game. One example is Chespin, the Grass type starter from the Kalos region. Chespin made its Pokemon Go debut in 2020 and didn’t get its shiny version until January 2023.

When it comes to starters, Pokemon Go features the Pokemon on a Community Day and releases the shiny version. It has been done the same way for almost all the starters in the game.

Rowlet might not get its shiny version for at least a couple of months if not years. Chespin’s fellow starters, Fennekin and Froakie don’t have shiny versions available either. Considering the game likes to go in order, these two are before Rowlet on the list of priorities.

Other starters might be added to the game before Rowlet gets its shiny version. Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble, the starters from the Galar region, are yet to be added to the game.
