With the LoL Worlds 2019 Main Event underway, the group stage Pick’em predictions are now locked. Reddit user u/LoLNamesGG shared some interesting statistics regarding this, revealing the most common setups players have for each of the four groups.

Over 420,000 Pick’em predictions were analyzed, which showed that fans are favoring G2 Esports, FunPlus Phoenix, SK Telecom T1, and Invictus Gaming to come out on top of their respective groups.

G2 and FPX strong favorites for groups, mixed results for C and D

Group A has a strong favorite in G2, with fans divided between Griffin and Cloud9 when it comes to second place. Interestingly, there is also a sizable contingent of fans that have Griffin pegged as the group’s first seed. Regardless of the top three, very few have Hong Kong Attitude placing higher than fourth.

FPX is Group B’s favorite, with most choosing Splyce right behind them. That said, GAM Esports was also shown some love with a fair number of players choosing them for second place. Much like HKA, very few believe J Team will land higher than last in Group B.

Group C, the so-called group of death, is one of the most consistent. A strong majority of players have SK Telecom T1 in first place and North American underdogs Clutch Gaming in last. LoL fans are torn over whether Fnatic or Royal Never Give Up will come in second. Most fans are favoring the LEC team, though RNG got the nod on many Pick’ems.

Group D is wide open, with the most variety in picks. Invictus Gaming is the most-favored team for first place, but Damwon Gaming, Team Liquid, and ahq e-Sports Club all received some love. In a strong statement of how competitive the group is, the third most common bracket for Group D has Damwon Gaming coming in last place while the fourth most common has them coming in first.

Whether the players participating in Pick’ems are good at forecasting the outcome will be seen over the course of the next two weeks. The little that has been seen so far has largely gone according to plan, with the exception of J Team stunning FunPlus Phoenix on day one of the main event group stage.
