Pokemon Unite is rapidly expanding by adding new playable Pokemon to the game and including balance updates to keep the game fresh and interesting. Another part of the game that is constantly being developed is the skins that can be purchased to change the appearance of the Pokemon.

Skins are already known as a popular product in League of Legends, Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Fortnite, and many other big online multiplayer games. While these skins won’t give an advantage in the game, they provide the character with a cooler look. This is also something that Pokemon Unite has picked up and now gives the players the chance to play as Hip-Hop Pikachu, Beach Style Machamp, or many others.

So far, only 10 costumes are available in the game but it’s expected that this number will grow rapidly. During the beta testing of the game, a total of 26 costumes were leaked and will likely be added to the game eventually.

Until new cool cosmetics are added to the game, here are some of the best ones so far.

Beach Style: Snorlax

Beach Style Snorlax

Not only is Snorlax one of the absolute best Pokemon in the game currently but it is also the proud owner of one of the best and most goofy skins to grace Pokemon Unite. The Beach Style costume line has quickly become one of the front runners in the game and will likely be expanded to other Pokemon in the future.

Currently, Machamp, Garchomp, and Venusaur also have a Beach Style skin but the one for Snorlax is something special. With the game releasing during the summer, this is the perfect line of skins to get into a summer mood. For Snorlax, the design is centered around giving it as much goofiness as possible. This has been executed perfectly by giving Snorlax some fashionable sunglasses and a swim tube.

This skin can be purchased in the shop for either 350 Aero Gems or 18 Holowear Tickets. Before buying it, Snorlax players should keep in mind that another Snorlax costume is underway where Snorlax is dressed in a huge Pinap Berry.

Hip-Hop Style: Pikachu

Hip-Hop Style Pikachu

As the mascot of the Pokemon franchise, Pikachu is obviously already available with a costume. Just like many players will know from Pokemon GO and even the TCG, Pikachu loves different costumes. The latest is a hip-hop costume in Pokemon Unite.

Unlike most other skins in Pokemon Unite, Hip-Hop Pikachu can’t be bought in the store. Instead, this skin will be acquired through the battle pass. Hip-Hop Pikachu will be the very first reward for everyone who bought the battle pass and unfortunately won’t be available in the free battle pass.

Captain Style: Cinderace

Captain Style Cinderace

Another very strong and popular Pokemon is Cinderace, who also has an amazing costume to showcase. The Captain Style costume line is currently exclusive to Cinderace and really brings out the fire in the ranged attacker.

So far, Cinderace has been on the top of most people’s Pokemon Unite tier list and continues to be so even after getting nerfed in the first balance update. Even after these nerfs, Cinderace is still a very unique Pokemon that can deal immense damage through auto attacks unlike most other Pokemon in the game. Cinderace is also amazing at soloing big objectives such as Drednaw, Rotom, and Zapdos, so expect the Captain to stay around for a little while longer.

The strength of Cinderace is extra great for the people aiming to rock its costume. Just like Hip-Hop Pikachu, Captain Cinderace can only be obtained through the battle pass. To get the Cinderace skin will require the paid version of the battle pass and a whole lot of grinding. This is because Captain Style: Cinderace is the 90th and final reward of the season 1 battle pass and, therefore, the hardest costume to obtain.

Upcoming Pokemon Unite skins to include Lucario, Charizard

For the players who haven’t found the perfect costume yet, or are missing a costume on their main Pokemon, there are luckily plenty more in the works. As of right now, it’s expected that a new drop of skins will release soon including the likes of Lucario, Charizard, Talonflame, Mr. Mine, and Pikachu.

These skins will be in new themes with Bandit, Bonfire, Fashion, and Cook Style. It will still be a while before every Pokemon in the game has a costume but it’s probably something that the Pokemon Company is aiming at doing. Until then, it might be time to consider playing other Pokemon and potentially rock them with an awesome costume.

Confirmed upcoming Pokemon Unite skins:

  • Bandit Style: Lucario
  • Bonfire Style: Talonflame
  • Cook Style: Mr. Mime
  • Fashion Style: Pikachu
  • Bonfire Style: Charizard
