The Steam Strategy Fest is upon us and the best deals will let you unleash your inner Napoleon for cheap.

As far as gaming genres go, strategy is one of the most diverse. While there are plenty of stereotypical options involving managing armies, developing civilization, and new takes on classic board games, there’s also plenty of lighter fare.

The Steam Strategy Fest is a great opportunity to look over the best of the genre and dip your toes into the many, many options. The sale is now live, so here are the best deals on AAA releases and indie darlings available in the Steam Strategy Fest.

The Steam Strategy Fest runs from August 28 to September 4, 2023. The games included in the sale will be unable to get a discount for a while after the sale ends, so be sure to pick up all the games you intend to play sooner rather than later.

The best AAA deals of the Steam Strategy Fest

There are a ton of options for big strategy releases, and these are the best options we found. All of the games in the following list were released relatively recently by somewhat famous developers, but are on steep sale for the Strategy Fest.

Some of these titles were released in the past year, and all of them are highly rated by players. Some titles, especially the Paradox ones like Crusader Kings and Stellaris, have a ton of DLC that is also on sale for the Strategy Fest.

Most of these fall in the standard genre fare of civilization development, but there’s plenty of variety when it comes to setting and inner mechanics.

Hidden strategy gems now on steep discount

If you’re already a strategy enthusiast and want to check out some lesser-known titles in the genre, here are some indie darlings to check out for the Steam Strategy Fest.

These titles are a little more diverse, ranging from tower defense games to tabletop game emulations. Similar to the AAA choices, multiple of these games have DLC that is also on sale to celebrate the event.

Make sure to pick up these indie darlings now, as the discounts are even bigger for these titles than the big-name releases.
