A Steam Sale is the closest thing PC gamers have to an official holiday, so when should you plan to ball out next in 2023?

While various competitors have sprung up over the last few years, Steam remains the default platform for PC gaming. A big reason for this is its famous sales, which often feature thousands of titles, reducing their sticker price at the same time. The seasonal sales are the biggest of them all, often featuring reduced prices for recently-released AAA games in addition to hundreds of indies. Valve has already confirmed info on the next Steam Sale, so here’s what you need to know.

The Summer Sale is the next Steam Sale of 2023

The next major discount event is the 2023 Steam Summer Sale, which will start on June 29 and run until July 13.

These dates were confirmed by Valve on the official Steamworks blog page. This page is generally meant for developers, but there’s nothing stopping normal gamers from taking a peek. The page lists all of the Steam Sales planned for the rest of the year, which includes both the major season sales and more specific Fest events.

Steam Summer Sale 2022

The Steam Summer Sale is generally one of the biggest events of the year, if not the absolute biggest. The 2022 edition featured several thousand games on discount with over ten thousand deals if you include DLC. That sale also featured steep discounts on highly-rated and AAA titles like Dead Cells, Ghostrunner, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderland.

If you’re looking for more specialized sales, Steam is also hosting genre-specific events shortly following the Summer Sale. The Stealth Fest will begin on July 24 and will feature all sorts of games that involve sneaking around. August 7 marks the start of the Visual Novel Fest, which should help placate gamers looking for a good story. The full list of sales planned for the year is available on the official Steamworks sales page.
