Splyce secured first place with a victory over Isurus Gaming in the 2019 League of Legends World Championship play-in stage.

Splyce is determined to make it to the main event and the LEC representative used that motivation to dominate Isurus from the LLA for its second victory of day one. So far, Splyce is undefeated and will look to end the group stage without dropping a game.

Splyce takes over Group B

Isurus Gaming opened the game with a solo kill in the top lane. Mateo “Buggax” Aroztegui on Gangplank got the best of Tamás “Vizicsacsi” Kiss’s Gnar in a one-versus-one duel to get the ball rolling for Isurus. Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir took the opportunity to apply pressure on the other lanes and get Splyce rolling.

The early game mostly consisted of trades, with Splyce getting the better bargains. Jungler Sebastián “Oddie” Niño on Lee Sin constantly missed his skill shots and every mistake was punished by Splyce. This positioned the Europeans to take over the game.

Isurus managed to make one big play that turned into three kills, which they used to rush the baron pit. Isurus was focused on the baron and ignored Vizicsacsi, who stuck around. As soon as he transformed into Mega Gnar, Vizicsacsi nailed three members of Isurus against a wall. Splyce kicked Isurus out of the pit and claimed the objective for themselves.

Now back firmly in control, Splyce began a game-ending siege. Splyce moved from one lane to another, taking out each inhibitor. Isurus looked lost inside their base, and the team hesitated to start a fight while watching its base collapse. Splyce pulled the trigger one last time before destroying the nexus.

Splyce sits comfortably in first place of Group B. Isurus fell to second place after a victory over DetonatioN FocusMe earlier in the day. DFM is third with two loses on their score.

Group B returns to the stage on October 3 for the second half of the round-robin.
