Splyce starts LoL Worlds 2019 with convincing victory over DFM
Splyce destroyed DetonatioN FocusMe in their first match at the 2019 League of Legends World Championship.
Splyce is off to a good start at Worlds 2019, as the LEC representative took down DetonatioN FocusMe in a fast game.
DFM innovated with Nocturne in the mid lane while Splyce kept it simple with a standard composition.
Xerxe wins the game early for Splyce
Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir started the game with a gank in the bottom lane and repeated the same play in the top lane. The ganks set up his side laners for success and Splyce was ready to take over the game.
In the mid lane, Marek “Humanoid” Brázda struggled in a one-versus-one against Kyohei “Ceros” Yoshida. Splyce made up for the deficit in the mid lane by pressuring the side lanes. The early game was a bloody affair.
DFM saw control of the game slipping away, so the team decided to force team fights to retake command. That strategy backfired and Splyce ended up getting control of the map even faster.
Despite playing from behind, Detonation still had some tricks up their sleeves. In the jungle, DFM chased Splyce and Shunsuke “Evi” Murase used Gnar’s ultimate to get multiple enemies against the wall, but Splyce hit back and ended up winning the fight.
Detonation was still dangerous, but the gold difference truly set the teams apart. The sustain and damage from Splyce were significantly higher, to the point where they couldn’t play their way into an advantage.
Splyce didn’t rush the win even when they had absolute control of the map.
The team was methodical and disciplined as they set up for baron. Detonation jungler Mun “Steal” Geon-yeong got one step too close as Ekko, and was caught by Splyce. This is the second Ekko pick of the play-ins, and the second time the champion failed to impact the game. Teams have seemingly cracked the code and are picking compositions with strong crowd control to counter the champion.
Powered up with the baron buff, Splyce marched into the enemy base where they found three kills. The remaining members of DFM kept fighting, but were no match for Splyce. Splyce aced DFM and secured its first win at the World Championship.

T1 exposes Karmine Corp with 3-0 win at League of Legends MSI 2026
Wasif Ahmed
T1 just beat Karmine Corp 3-0 in the play-in stage of the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational. More importantly, T1 turned KC’s strengths into weaknesses. The bot lane and teamfight prowess that shone in the LEC were no match this time. The match started with Karmine Corp picking a disrespectful draft, blind picking three immobile squishies. Right off the bat, a botched invade put their jungle and bot lane at a disadvantage. ...

Hannan Mundia
The KeSPA Cup is slated to return sooner than most expected, though its date and exclusive Disney+ partnership raises some questions. The KeSPA Cup is an annual tournament organized directly by the Korea e-Sports Association. While it doesn’t get nearly as much attention as Riot-organized leagues and events, LCK powerhouses still participate in it. 2025’s KeSPA Cup is still fairly fresh since it took place in December. This year’s tournament ...
