Twitch streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys recently announced her new snack company, Myna, revealing midnight cookies as the first product. However, the initial reaction has been mixed, and the streamer has addressed the matter.

Pokimane’s Myna cookies are being marketed as a healthy alternative to regular cookies. The gluten-free midnight cookies, however, are by no means a revolutionary snack. Earlier, fans accused Pokimane of selling a drop-shipped product, which she addressed in an X post. But the controversy continues.

Now, the community is calling out the streamer for selling overpriced cookies. Myna sells at $7 per bag, which, according to the community, is too high of a price. Competitor products are available at cheaper rates, but Pokimane claims that Myna’s ratio, ingredient quality, and sourcing are different, hence the $7 price tag.

She further addressed the excessive hate and criticism on her livestream, which only added fuel to the fire.

“When people are like, ‘Oh my god, $28 for cookies?’ It’s four bags. That’s $7 a bag. I know math is hard when you’re an idiot, but if you’re a broke boy, just say so,” Pokimane said.

Pokimane apologizes for calling her viewer broke

Those who understand the pricing due to the gluten-free product are also criticizing Pokimane for being “out of touch” with the global economic crisis and calling her viewers broke. The fans said the streamer was highly insensitive to the valid pricing criticism.

Pokimane has now apologized for her “broke boy” comment. Clarifying her statement, Pokimane explained that her remark was aimed at one particular rude chatter, not at the entire community. Still, fans aren’t sold.

The good thing is that she has assured the fans that Myna is taking the feedback into consideration and may consider tweaking prices to make the snacks more affordable.
