NRG Sports Unveils Team For VCT 2025 Tournament
One of the biggest events in the esports calendar is undoubtedly the VCT tournament. Every year, fans wait on bated breath to see who will compete and, more importantly, who will win.
While we have to wait a few more months for VTC 2025, we now know more about the contestants. In a Twitter/X post from October 10, 2024, NRG Sports confirmed its team for the tournament.
Who is On The NRG Sports VCT 2025 Roster?
The NRG Sports VCT 2025 roster includes Ethan “Ethan” Cole, Pujan “FNS” Mehta, Sam “s0m” Oh, Adam “mada” Pampuch, and Andrew “Verno” Maust.
Along with these players, Malkolm “bonkar” Rench will be stepping in to replace Chet ‘Chet’ Singh as coach of the team. Chet has held the role since 2022. Other shakeups include s0m and FNS, who actually left NRG back in 2023 but rejoined in 2024. Seems there is no love lost there.
But some argue that this shakeup is needed, given the team’s previous performance in the tournament. At the VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo, they finished in fourth place and at VTC 2024 Americas Stage 2, they finished in eighth place. As such, they didn’t qualify for the international tournaments.
The company, however, has continued to truck along and address some of its issues. One of the most significant moves it made was bringing in Max “Demon1” Mazanov and Ethan “Ethan” Cole who were the Valorant Champions 2023 winners.
While Demon1 has since left the company, Ethan will be in the next competition. The announcement was followed by a video showing various gameplays on a digital screen, as well as a tab which indicated that finances were ‘all good’.
Considering the fact that NRG Sports had a total equity of $240 million in November 2022, this comes as no surprise. Hiring these top players also won’t come cheap but NRG Sports seems more than willing to shell out what is needed. Fans seemed especially excited for Mada to be making an appearance and seemed to have high hopes for the VCR 2025 Tournament.
