The Brazillian football prodigy Neymar Jr. skipped The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony to stream Valve’s shooter Counter Strike: Global Offensive. His stream was titled “The best of CSGO” during the award show.

Football club Paris Saint-Germain’s forward Neymar Jr. has already cemented a firm foot in sports and has recently dipped his toes into streaming.

The football maestro was not named in the list of  top three best players in FIFA Football Awards 2020 that included Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Robert Lewandowski. Neymar didn’t hide his disappointment as he took to Twitter to announce a new career in esports.

Through emojis, the footballer implied that he’s leaving his football career behind since it didn’t work out for him. A few days after the Twitter outburst, the footballer was seen streaming CSGO while the award show was going on. He streamed two matches and won one on Dust 2. While Neymar was busy taking the enemies down in CSGO, Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowski won the Best FIFA Men’s Player. However, Neymar’s stream was worth watching as it was packed with entertainment, display of skill, and terrific clutches.

Following his earlier statement about becoming a “gamer,” the footballer has become more consistent with his streams. Neymar streamed twice in one week and played alongside some of the biggest names in CSGO during his second stream. The showmatch took place between Neymar’s team that included Furia’s star facing off with Vitality’s players.

Neymar started the showmatch on a high note by clutching the first pistol round. The great 1v4 was followed by a celebration that was just as incredible. The star footballer lost the match, but his excellent skills in CSGO left a lasting impression on viewers and fans.

Clips from this stream went viral in no time, garnering over a million views. Neymar’s 1v4 clutch against Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Richard “shox” Papillon, and others, quickly became the highlight of his stream and managed to get a reply from CSGO’s official handle itself.

Brazil is known for its tremendous contribution to football. In the era of esports, the country has birthed and groomed many CSGO stars like Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, Marcelo “coldzera” David, and Epitácio “TACO” de Melo. Neymar is not the only footballer to devote his time to CSGO. Most recently Casemiro founded his own CSGO team called CaseEsports, adding to the bright future of Brazillian esports.
