The debut of Gwen, the Hallowed Seamstress, is right around the corner and Riot has just revealed all of her abilities.

Not more than a week ago, Riot Games offered a first look at new top lane AP skirmisher Gwen through a teaser and gameplay trailer. Now that Gwen is about to be made available to League of Legends players in the Public Beta Environment, Riot has given a more detailed look at her abilities and it’s fair to say that Gwen will likely cut down opponents in an instant.

From the first look at the abilities, Gwen seems like the AP skirmisher she was made out to be, but with a heavy reliance on auto-attacks. This is rarely seen for an ability-power champion, but Gwen is here to shake things up. Gwen will also be the next champion to have mist in her abilities, which was last seen with Viego. Just like Viego, Gwen will be hard to shut down when in her mist.

Here are the abilities of new LoL champion Gwen

Passive – Thousand Cuts

Gwen’s basic attacks deal bonus on-hit magic damage based on a percentage of her own health. Basic attacks against champions will also heal Gwen for some of the damage dealt.

Q – Snip Snip!

Gwen rapidly snips her scissors between two and six times, dealing magic damage in a cone. Gwen will snip twice at a minimum, adding one snip per basic attack Gwen has landed on an enemy up to four extra snips. Enemies hit in the center of each snip will take true damage and bonus magic damage from her passive Thousand Cuts.

W – Hallowed Mist

Gwen surrounds herself with Hallowed Mist for five seconds, gaining armor and magic resistance while inside it. Enemies outside of the mist cannot target Gwen or hit her with abilities. The mist will move to follow Gwen the first time she tries to leave the area.

E – Skip ’n Slash

Gwen dashes a short distance and empowers her attacks with increased range, attack speed, and on-hit magic damage for four seconds. Attacking an enemy during this time refunds 50% of the ability’s cooldown.

R – Needlework

Gwen can cast Needlework up to a total of three times but needs to hit an enemy within eight seconds to unlock the next cast. Each cast fired needles in a line that deal magic damage, slow enemies, and apply Gwen’s passive Thousand Cuts.

The first cast of Needlework will fire one needle, the second will fire three, and the final cast will fire five.

When will Gwen be released in League of Legends?

With Gwen hitting the PBE shortly, she is set to be introduced to the game during patch 11.8 which is scheduled to launch on April 14.  That said, no official release date has been announced as of yet as new champions usually don’t get released on the exact day a new patch drops.
