Halloween is fast approaching and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players have been greeted with an early treat of haunting ghosts and a spooky new map layout.

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Halloween update allows players to turn into ghosts after they die. This feature is only available in Casual, Demolition, and Flying Scoutsman game modes.

As ghosts, players can haunt their opponents and roam the map freely. They can also apply graffiti and affect interactable props like soccer balls, glasses, and doors. Ghosts can only be seen by other ghosts and observers so they can’t fully distract those who are left alive.

Chickens now spawn in all non-competitive matches during Halloween and when they are killed, they turn into zombie chickens. Also, players can play with two pumpkin soccer balls that spawn in random places across the map.

Additionally, Cobblestone has been revamped to align with the Halloween theme. Significant changes to the map layout were also introduced. The connector between long A and underpass, a large section of the old bombsite A courtyard, and access to most of the T spawn area were removed.

In the new Cobblestone layout, long view angle from long A’s CT side towards the courtyard is now blocked, and climbable props in dropdown have been added. The height of doors in the underpass was also decreased.

Small map changes were made to Biome and Subzero. These included fixing stuck spots and incorrect collisions for Biome, and fixing several deathmatch spawns and T water no longer killing players on Subzero.

Minor changes were also made to the UI, such as an added fallback image for unknown workshop maps and a fix to an issue with early votes being ignored.
