NBA star Luka Dončić appears on pro Overwatch 2 stream
Overwatch 2 players are running into NBA star Luka Dončić in the Grand Master lobby.
Dončić is a huge fan of Overwatch 2, which he has mentioned on multiple occasions. The Dallas Mavericks pro has even talked about his mains on TikTok.
“I probably main Roadhog, Hanzo, and Cassidy. They’re my three favorite heroes,” Dončić said on TikTok in late 2022.
It seems like Dončić has only continued to grind the game ever since. He recently ran into Overwatch 2 streamer m0xyy while playing competitive. m0xy was queuing with a friend when he was paired with a tank player going by Donatello. As the team continued to dominate, Donatello asked m0xyy if they were, in fact, the actual Overwatch streamer, admitting they watched their stream all the time.
Sensing some friendly banter happening, another player asked Donatello what his hobby is.
“I play basketball,” he responded.
The player followed up with a second question, asking if he played basketball at a gym or with a team. Donatello responded that he played with the Dallas Mavericks. The team reacted with shock, but Donatello reassured them that he played in the NBA.
The chat started to realize that it was Luka Dončić and m0xyy started quizzing Dončić on himself, asking him when his birthday was and then what his mom’s name was. Dončić answered them all right away and a quick Google search proved him right.
“I know, I’m him,” Dončić said.
Despite the banter, Dončić proved himself to be a great tank player. Using largely Zarya and Reinhardt, the NBA star was able to protect his team properly and lead successful charges. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, however, since Dončić is GM rank.
