YouTuber Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson is known for his philanthropy and crazy video concepts. But recently, MrBeast said his main channel is starting to make him lose a lot of money.

MrBeast has over 50 million subscribers on his main channel, where he publishes extravagant videos that some may find over-the-top. Think buying something crazy, or giving people extreme amounts of money to spend in one minute. He even bought a $700,000 island last year that people competed to win.

The popular YouTuber recently started a gaming channel that already has over 13 million subscribers. He’s recently played Among Us and Minecraft. While it’s not as big as his main channel, MrBeast seems determined to focus a bit more on growing the gaming channel. He explained why on Twitter.

Almost all my recent videos lost me a ridiculous amount of money. That’s why I started the gaming channel so I can use the extra money to run the main at a loss and just focus on making the best videos possible ????

— MrBeast (@MrBeastYT) January 9, 2021

MrBeast told fans that his end goal is to have Beast Shorts, Beast Reacts, and Beast Gaming become the primary means through which he makes money. The money would then be funneled into his main channel, allowing him to make videos “that are so stupidly expensive they don’t make sense.”

He also noted that the “attention” he receives for the main channel videos’ insane concepts would allow him to open “a couple hundred food pantries and homeless shelters.”

Despite MrBeast’s charitable goals, some viewers questioned his true intentions. Some fans tweeted back that he already could have the money to open these shelters.

Fans of the crazy YouTuber responded that MrBeast is clearly working on it, and that he needs ongoing revenue to continue supporting the shelters, including paying related taxes. Other fans pointed out that MrBeast already has opened food banks. The YouTuber may make some extravagant videos that seem like a waste of money, but he is no stranger to donating large amounts to those in need.

How much money does MrBeast have?

Forbes recently revealed that MrBeast has made an estimated $24 million. That’s thanks to his many millions of YouTube subscribers and billions of total channel views.

How did MrBeast make his money?

A lot of MrBeast’s money has come from ad revenue on YouTube. The famous streamer and content creator also makes a good chunk of change from video sponsors including TikTok and CSGO Lotto. MrBeast also has popular merch for sale, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, and pants, all of which add to his income.
