MIBR drops meyern, adds trk ahead of DreamHack Masters Spring

MIBR is back to being an all-Brazilian team once again.

The Immortals Gaming Club-owned team has added Alencar “trk” Rossato to its roster. In adding him, MIBR benched Argentinian player Ignacio “meyern” Meyer after five months. Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo bid meyern farewell on Twitter.

“Thank you little brother for all of your dedication and work with us. This rookie has many, many years of Counter-Strike in front of him and I’m sure he’ll represent his brothers well,” Fallen said.

Valeu manito por toda dedicação e trabalho conosco. Garoto novo tem muitos e muitos anos de CS pela frente e com certeza irá muito longe representando os hermanos. https://t.co/QoVlSKJfjk

trk has been an anchor for Brazilian contender Team One. He first joined Team One in 2015 and has been on its starting Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster ever since, outside of a short spell on the team’s bench in 2016.

His greatest achievement with the team on an international stage was a fourth-place finish in WESG 2017. Outside this, he has performed well in a number of leagues in both South and North America.

It will be interesting to see how his skills hold up against the stiffer competition he will likely face in North America as a member of Brazil’s top CSGO team, and whether trk will finally help MIBR settle into a groove.

With the addition of trk, MIBR’s roster now stands as follows:

Meyern latest to exit MIBR’s revolving door roster

FalleN, fer, TACO, and Marcelo “coldzera” David made up the core of one of the strongest teams in CSGO history. Playing under numerous banners and with various fifth members, they won two majors and a slew of other notable tournaments.

Fallen, fer, and TACO remain together to this day, but coldzera’s bitter divorce from the team in 2019 and enduring instability in that number 5 spot has seen the team’s standing slip over the last year.

MIBR has tried to address this in a number of different ways, bringing in players from previous iterations of the team, proven names from other Brazilian rosters, and even players from other South American countries. None of them have seen the team achieve stronger results, with the MIBR posting consistently underwhelming events in premier CSGO events.

kNgV-, a CSGO veteran that had significant success with Luminosity Gaming and Immortals before joining MIBR, has been the most successful addition to the team to date. But that still hasn’t been enough to bring MIBR back to its former heights. MIBR is hoping that going back to an all-Brazilian roster will help the team return to form after an underwhelming six months.

trk’s debut with the team will come in DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 against regional rival Furia Esports.
