Mauga is the focus of a patch — again — as developers continue to balance the powerful tank hero.
There has been controversy surrounding the Samoan tank ever since he was released earlier this month. He was seen as a bit OP when he first dropped, with players concerned ahead of his competitive arrival due to the amount of damage he does while being quite aggressive.
He was nerfed a week in, with developers lowering his weapon damage and tweaking his ultimate. But apparently it wasn’t enough.
Mauga is the main focus of the Overwatch 2 patch notes. Here are the changes to the powerful tank.
Mauga
Incendiary and Volatile Chainguns
Berserker
With Mauga now available in competitive matches, developers are hoping to make the tank less oppressive and keep the roster balanced.
