Astralis mid laner Carl “MagiFelix” Boström has extended his contract with the organization for the remainder of 2021.

In a recent announcement by Astralis, MagiFelix is announced to be staying with the team for the remainder of the 2021 LEC season. MagiFelix joined the team in February as a replacement for former mid laner Erlend “Nukeduck” Holm, who had to step down due to personal reasons. As the 2021 LEC Spring Split has concluded for Astralis, the team will be keeping MagiFelix while Nukeduck’s contract has been terminated.

Everyone is wondering if @MagiFelix_lol will stay with us so @Zanzarahlol just straight up went in and asked him. pic.twitter.com/DHHtcimEs7

Nukeduck will therefore be leaving Astralis after playing under the organization since 2018. Nukeduck joined the team as one of the first members when Astralis Group bought the Origen brand and a spot in the LEC for the 2019 season. Since then, the Origen brand has been changed to Astralis with Nukeduck being part of the journey all the way. What’s next for Nukeduck is still unknown, but the Norwegian mid laner will likely be without a team until the summer split at the earliest.

“We want to thank Erlend for his time with us and his efforts to help the team and the organization,” director of sports at Astralis Group, Kasper Hvidt said. “It was his and our wish to find a solution, giving him the time and possibility to make the right decision regarding his next move.”

For MagiFelix, he will get the chance to play a complete LEC split when summer begins. Even with his assistance, Astralis didn’t manage to lock a spot in the 2021 LEC Spring Split playoffs but managed to improve over the past weeks of the split. Astralis managed to end the regular split with three wins in a row over Vitality, SK Gaming, and MAD Lions respectively. The end to the split gave Astralis and its fans a lot of renewed hope for the summer split.

From the very beginning of our League of Legends journey, @Nukeduck has been there.

Huge thank you for being a part of the #AstralisFamily for so long and all the best to you in the future. ♥ pic.twitter.com/hGIwLxJzGV

Who is playing for the Astralis LEC team?
