Riot Games’ Legends of Runeterra will be released on PC and mobile on April 30.

Legends of Runeterra is a strategy card game set in the world of League of Legends. At launch, Legends of Runeterra will feature seven regions, 35 champions, and more than 400 cards.

It will launch with a new set of 120 cards, including a new region. According to the official press release, the champions will be revealed soon and continue to be released up until the game’s launch date. The new set will be playable April 28 on PC.

The launch will be the start of a new ranked season. For anyone who participated in the beta, they’ll be excited to learn that there’s no “content wipe,” meaning everything they’ve earned and purchased thus far will be available upon the official launch.

Riot opens up on Legends of Runeterra’s launch

One exciting aspect of Legends of Runeterra is the game’s cross-platform capabilities. Mobile players will be able to compete against PC players using Riot accounts.

“While a Riot account will not be required to access LoR on mobile…a Riot account is required for cross-platform play and sharing your account progress between PC and mobile. We also can’t help you out with account recoveries if it’s not a Riot account,” the Riot developer team said.

Legends of Runeterra is only compatible with iOS9 and higher for Apple phones, with the minimum requirements calling for an Arm64 processor or better. The developers do not recommend 1 GB RAM devices like iPhone 5’s and 6’s. While it’s still playable, it will “experience poor performance” and “interruptions” during gameplay. Android users should have OS 5.0 or higher and 2 GB RAM.

Some players were also curious if there’s a reward for participating in the beta. Riot explained that beta players can log in to Legends of Runeterra by 11:59 PM PST on May 7 to receive an exclusive Moonstruck Poro Guardian. The reward will be distributed the next day.

It’s also worth noting how the game’s first Ranked reset will look.

“The end of beta will also bring an end to LoR’s first and only Beta Season. Once we launch, you’ll earn a Beta Season-exclusive icon based on the highest tier you reached to commemorate your first climb in Ranked LoR,” Riot explained. “We’ll then partially reset ranks for LoR’s first post-launch season.”

Here’s how that will look:

  • Master accounts will drop 800LP (8 divisions)
  • Diamond and Platinum accounts will drop 750LP (7 divisions + 50LP)
  • Gold and Silver accounts will drop 675LP (6 divisions + 75LP)
  • Bronze and Iron accounts will reset to Iron IV

After that, players will have about two months to climb as “high as you can” before the Ranked reward is granted.

Aside from the rank reset, reward, and new cards, Riot stated that the game is almost identical to the game people enjoyed throughout the beta.

“Beyond mobile and new cards, ‘launch’ mostly signifies that we’re now confident LoR’s core game and progression are in good shape for a wider audience,” they explained.
