John Cena is now part of Overwatch 2, but thankfully it’s not as a playable character.
Taking a page out of Diablo 4’s Megan Fox marketing book, Overwatch 2 has sought the help of John Cena to promote its latest update Invasion and its PVE missions. The WWE star and established actor is a hacker in Overwatch 2 who’s here to warn the heroes about an imminent invasion.
While previous teasers had the fans convinced that John Cena would be a playable character, that’s not the case. And it’s for the best, considering John Cena’s overpowered mock abilities.
After unveiling John Cena as Enigma, the anticipated hacker behind the glitches affecting Overwatch 2 streamers, Blizzard has now given him his own abilities, and they’re too OP. Here are all the abilities of John Cena, as Overwatch’s Enigma.
Can’t See Me: Activate to wave your hand in front of your face and become invisible to the enemy team. Lasts forever. You can use any other ability while active. Nothing you can do about it.
The Dance From That Clap: You know the one. Forces nearby enemies to stop attacking their target, redirect their attention to you, and appreciate the reference with a slight chortle. Usable in just about any context.
And His Name Is (Ultimate): Automatically cancels the next enemy ultimate by loudly reminding everyone what your name is and blaring your theme song at a dangerously high volume.
Are You Sure About That? (Passive): Enemy players that attempt to damage you are met with a pop-up window that questions that foolish decisions and renders them immobile until they confirm that they are, in fact, sure about that.
So, Enigma doesn’t physically hurt anyone, but he can be extremely distracting, so it’s fair that he’s not in the game as a playable character. However, players are now curious about the wild possibility. If John Cena was playable with this very same toolkit, he’d likely end the Omnic Crisis in a day.
