Jedi: Survivor Cal Kestis

Footage for Jedi: Survivor has been released at the 2022 Game Awards, showcasing the next step in Cal Kestis’ journey.

Jedi: Fallen Order was the hit Star Wars exploration and adventure game from 2019, following Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis as he tries to survive in a hostile galaxy. The new game picks up with the last one left off, with a more confident and capable Cal taking on the Sith and the Empire.

Jedi: Survivor trailer revealed at the 2022 Game Awards

Fans got their first proper look at Jedi: Survivor when Cal Kestis actor Cameron Monaghan debuted it at the 2022 Game Awards.

The trailer showed Kal fighting his way through imperial facilities, fighting Stormtroopers, and riding exotic fauna through the alien worlds of the Star Wars universe. Kal is referred to as “the Empire’s most wanted,” so it seems like he’s been busy fighting against the totalitarian regime of the Emperor in the time since fans last saw him.

Between cooperative fighting with NPCs, facing down with Separatist Battle Droids, and new intimidating bounty hunters, Jedi: Survivor seems to have tons to offer fans.

It was announced ahead of time that Jedi: Survivor would be debuting footage at the Game Awards, but the new trailer has given fans lots to consider. With a look at a dastardly new villain and his henchment, shots of brand new planets and enemies, and new allies for Cal to fight alongside, it seems like Jedi: Survivor is taking the best systems from Jedi: Fallen Order and tuning them to even better serve its storytelling and narrative.

Jedi: Survivor is available for pre-order now and is slated for release on March 15, 2023. With the trailer showing off what seems to be a mostly completed game, fans can assume the game is on track for that release date.
