Kai Cenat is known for his larger-than-life personality and record-breaking sub count on Twitch, but he is not without his controversies. He is often seen with fellow content creator Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins, who was banned from the platform for ongoing sexism and harassment claims, even including him in his subathon. Now, Cenat is asking Twitch to let his friend come back.
IShowSpeed has continued to make headlines for all the wrong reasons. He was banned from Twitch after continuing to yell sexist remarks in Valorant and has been accused of racist interactions more than once. Since then, IShowSpeed has found success on YouTube and Rumble, but Cenat wants his buddy back on the OG platform.
Kai Cenat has been so passionate about backing his friend, in fact, that he even reached out to Twitch about it.
During his July 31 stream, Cenat admitted that he recently sat down with Twitch’s CEO, Dan Clancy, to have a personal chat. This included asking Clancy to unban IShowSpeed “ASAP.” According to Cenat, the CEO agreed.
“So, CEO, do what you’ve got to do, okay?” Cenat shouted. “CEO, do what you’ve got to do!”
This was apparently not the only thing Cenat requested from Twitch. While he wouldn’t go into detail, the popular streamer admitted that he “requested a lot of things” during the conversation and was now hoping that the platform would come through with at least some of it.
For now, Twitch has made no movement in unblocking IShowSpeed.
