YouTuber Sean “Jacksepticeye” McLoughlin has continued to be one of the top creators on the platform with 30 million subscribers. But is Jacksepticeye thinking of retiring from YouTube? Some fans are worried.
Recently, Matthew “MatPat” Patrick announced that he was retiring from YouTube after over 13 years. Despite his massive success and multiple channels on games, style, food, and film, MatPat admitted in a tearful video that he missed a lot of family moments. His last video will be on March 9, and then he will hand off his channels to someone else.
Jacksepticeye responded to the announcement in a way that really concerned his fans.
Goodbye Internet
After watching MatPat’s tearful retirement video, Jacksepticeye tweeted that it made him realize he was doing YouTube “for a literal third” of his life. The ellipses at the end made fans fear the worst, that Jacksepticeye was questioning his future on YouTube after hearing MatPat’s regrets.
In response, fans reached out to Jacksepticeye on X and beyond, begging him not to leave YouTube.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that Jacksepticeye is leaving YouTube. Other YouTubers also shared similar sentiments, including James “MrBeast” Donaldson, who said he could “barely remember” the days before he started being a YouTuber. Jack could simply be reflecting.
For now, fans will have to wait and see if Jacksepticeye has any changes in mind for his future as a content creator.
