Overwatch 2: Invasion is going to be the game’s biggest update to date, so it’s no surprise that fans are getting quite hyped over what’s to come. Blizzard is planning a livestream to cover all the content that’s coming later this summer.
Overwatch 2: Invasion is a massive update that’s looking to add a lot of new content. This includes a scaled version of PvE mode after developers announced that the original vision was not happening anymore. A new game mode, Flashpoint, is also going to be added with new maps. Plus, there’s a new support hero on their way.
Here’s how to get a sneak peek of what’s to come in Invasion.

Overwatch 2 players were quite frustrated with Blizzard when it was announced that the long-awaited PvE mode — with hero-specific missions, lore, and skill trees — was no longer coming to the game.
While Season 5 has a lot of intriguing skins and limited-time modes inspired by Dungeons & Dragons lore, fans couldn’t get over the loss of PvE. To make up for it, Blizzard has announced a massive Season 6 with a watered-down PvE mode. But fans aren’t sure what to think of it just yet, especially now that it’s said to cost money.
If you’re unsure, you can check out a livestream that’s coming soon.
The Overwatch 2: Invasion livestream is coming Wednesday, June 21 at 11 am PST. You can watch it on the official Overwatch Twitch channel.
You’ll get the chance to learn more about what the PvE mode actually entails, as well as Flashpoint and co-op events. It’s unclear if the livestream will also show the new hero.
Overwatch 2: Invasion, aka Season 6, is coming August 10, 2023. This gives Overwatch players a month and a half or so to enjoy the whimsical fantasy world of Season 5 before the chaos of Invasion.
